This photo is probably the most "famous" in Boys' State history. Bill Clinton attended Boys' State in his home State of Arkansas and was elected US Senator. This photo was taken during Boys' Nation as 16-year-old Bill Clinton’s meeting with President John F. Kennedy in the Rose Garden in 1963.
Other famous alumni of the Boys and Girls State programs include Bill Clinton, George Pataki, Mike Huckabee, Tom Brokaw, Jane Pauley, Michelle D. Johnson, Nick Saban, Michael Jordan, Mark Wahlberg and Neil Armstrong. Many United States Senators (including Majority Leader Harry Reid, Bob Menendez, and Lamar Alexander), Governors, and state-level politicians (state senators, state assemblymen, et cetera) are Boys' or Girls' State alumni.
